Personalized Healing Through SomaYoga

Yoga is more than just movement—it’s a path to healing. Through Yoga Therapy, we go beyond traditional yoga practice to address pain, tension, and imbalances at their root, helping you move with greater ease and restore harmony in both body and mind.

Monica is currently studying to become a Certified Yoga Therapist through Yoga North International SomaYoga Institute, deepening her expertise in a therapeutic approach to movement, breathwork, and nervous system regulation. As she progresses in her certification, she is now offering private SomaYoga Therapy sessions for individuals looking for a highly personalized and gentle way to address chronic pain, misalignment, and movement restrictions.

What is SomaYoga?

SomaYoga Therapy blends elements of:

  • Somatics – Releasing unconscious tension and retraining movement patterns

  • Therapeutic Yoga – Gentle, mindful postures designed to restore balance and mobility

  • Breathwork & Meditation – Calming the nervous system for lasting relief

Unlike traditional yoga, which often focuses on stretching and strengthening, SomaYoga re-educates the nervous system to release habitual tension and improve movement patterns at a deeper level. It’s an ideal approach for those dealing with:

  • Chronic pain (back, neck, jaw, shoulders, hips)

  • Postural imbalances (from desk work, past injuries, or repetitive movements)

  • TMJ & jaw tension

  • Stress-related conditions affecting the body and mind

  • Restricted mobility & stiffness

  • Recovery from injury or surgery

"Yoga Therapy helped me take a whole-body approach to healing. Through Somatics, I was able to address not just my TMJ, but the misalignment and chronic tension patterns that had built up from years of sitting at a desk."

What to Expect in a Session

Each session is customized to your unique needs, focusing on mindful movement, breath awareness, and guided relaxation. Together, we will:

  • Identify areas of tension, pain, or movement restrictions

  • Use small, intentional movements to retrain the nervous system

  • Explore supported postures to gently restore alignment and ease

  • Learn breath techniques to help regulate stress and nervous system function

  • Develop simple, personalized practices you can do at home

SomaYoga Therapy is gentle yet highly effective, making it accessible for people of all ages and abilities.

As part of my Yoga Therapy training, I am now offering private SomaYoga sessions. This is a unique opportunity to work one-on-one in a highly customized setting, addressing your specific needs through therapeutic movement, breathwork, and mindfulness.
